We are curious as we are never truly satisfied!
philosopher and psychologist William James (1899) called curiosity “the impulse towards better cognition,”
How do we collectively release “hope” from the box? We are the good and the bad. The saints and the devils and we need this illusion boxed back up and hope set free and make room for more to awake . It’s a strong force because collectively, although the truths taught will differ from culture to culture, most will accept what was taught to them as truth while their intuition is gently “tugging” saying, wake up, . Thus that “pulling” or searching for something outside of our reality will tug at everyone at some point and some will hear the call. Most ignore it. They keep their curiosity within the walls of the religion they were taught and keep it as truth. They theaten others that if they believe against their truth, they will be condemned to a fiery hell. But they stay curious and try to walk to good old path to kingdom of heaven.its not organic and is far from the truth and it is a representation of hell . Then there are those who feel the tug. Mostly what I’ve noticed are those who have had severe trauma and insured adversity and result to a deeper healing. Normal folks with little Ts generally have no reason to introspectively go inwards , instead they will live a live out a life that they “settled” for. Luckily , I was gifted with extensive trauma, my catalyst and doorway to “pandoras “ box. It’s the never ending rabbit hole i slid down, slowly shattering my reality , both internally and externally and still continues . It’s the transformation that I had not invisioned a transformation to be. It’s a raw, human experience and the most authentic I’ve ever felt. Once the blinders come off. You cannot put them back on. “I” am both light and dark. As we are all light and dark.love is our true essence and we are nothing and everything simultaneously. It’s infinite and limitless. Narrowing it down, you see the world thru a lens’s and truly see the injustices that came before us and are present today, and the want to pave a new pathway for the ancestors who will come after us. With hope staying “inside “ the box, that’s what is wrong with folks. We are not taught self love and rely on others to tell us who we are, what we believe, and we stuff that shadow down and deep and eventually hidden from ourselves. And we pass it down like fire. So , My favorite folks are the ones who hold a story that is raw, human , and filled with unimaginable pain. Those folks hold a gift and if brave enough to grab your gift, become lighthokders to help shift this world. So, as I’ve read you’r posts I want to say to you, thank you and I see you. I am a 40 year old white woman and although I do not understand first hand the struggles of my brown eyed sisters, I do hold the space and compassion to stand beside you and honor you and your ancestors. I honor your ancestors who were brave enough to fight against injustices and I honor you for your own work and brining light to the issue that still remains today. I wish more people would awaken to the truth instead of blindly judging or blindly keeping racism alive, where we can be more compassionate and understanding of one another. I’m a 40 yr old non traditional college freshman and the first person I met that was a non traditional student themselves (and a psych major as well) was a gay black woman who spent most of her life within the system. I see it as I see it and she’s a fucking warrior because her work is unimaginably the ugly hard work to turn yourself around when society has slapped a forever label on you.l and the honorable work of going for your degree to help black youth stay out of the prison system. Those folks are the important ones who matter. And it’s thru my own curiosity of my own healing and self work that gave me the compassity to view the world from all and every angles. To see the injustices and differences while understanding that we all share a collective consciousness and are in the web of the whole. 12 Atahausca ceremonies within a year only sped my process up -shattering my world.
People need to not only be curious, but fearless in that curiosity to step outside of that box and question your reality. Follow your intuition. Most of all, follow and navigate with your heart. Hear the calling when curiousity forcefully whispers to you, wake up.
Curiousity led me to an adult site as I am navigating a divorce after a 23 year marriage (I’m painfully shattering my life into authenticity, lol) and I’m not surprised that I found your blogs lol
People find each other for a number of different reasons. I've learned not to question it. Thank you so much for your contributions to the blog and much success to you are you continue to navigate towards your authenticity.
@SeekingRod you ss well!
There's a biological drive or curiosity. First, we need to understand that there are two types of reproduction for organisms. Sexual which is humans and other child bearing and asexual which is cell division. To understand which one chooses which is to understand the environment that they must survive in. If the environment is not friendly The organism will choose a sexual giving 100% DNA knowledge of previous events. However, if the environment is somewhat favorable, it becomes sexual leading to childbirth. Human children develop over potentially 25 years span. Colt, zebras, giraffes and other animals in the wild are usually up and walking within hours because predators are more likely so they must have an evolutionary stake in being more independent sooner. So how does all of this fit into curiosity? Curiosity answers. Safety questions. Western culture has Romanesque witches. How do we build the roads and how do we do it efficiently. More Greek oriented would ask why would we build that road? What is the benefit and what is the cost? Curiosity leads to understanding the why portion which leads to understanding how to manipulate the how and if it's even worth it. We are driven to understand why because the negative effects of the how become negated or lessened. Or this could all be wrong, or possibly right, curious to find what you think?
Sorry for typos. Asexual is cell division and sexual is child bearing. By the way I'm The chromosomes that determine sexuality is the y chromosome. If you look at the y chromosome and the x chromosome, the why could be just missing the additional tail to be an x. Is this a biological adaptation from a sexual reproduction? Or is it the destabilization of the stable x chromosome. The feminine chromosome? Was an environment unfriendly and thus needed alteration? Moreover, there's research that suggests the y chromosome, masculine, is becoming unstable and perhaps may lead to infertility?
Interesting. Let’s see if I can follow you.
Am I to understand that your theory is that at the time of conception/development, an organism is capable of assessing it’s external environment and recognize if it is a safe one or not? And based on that assessment, determine if the continuance of human development/childbearing is appropriate? How then is it explained that human development is permitted in cases where an external environment is not deemed safe, i.e., a mother who is abusing drugs or alcohol, etc., at the time of conception?
Equally so and giving validity to your concept of the relationship with curiosity, and the search of the “why” that would determine the “how”; I agree that there is much curiosity surrounding the differences between the time frames and how humans vs animals in the wild mature. If I thought the answer to that was inside of a Pandora’s box, I probably would open it too, thus curiosity wins again.
You state, “Curiosity leads to understanding the why portion which leads to understanding how to manipulate the how and if it's even worth it.”
So am I to gather from that perception that in the case of Pandora, the conversation she likely had with herself was … “Why has the Gods given me this box? Why have I been instructed not to open it? Why give it to me if I can’t open it? What is inside? If I open it and don’t like what I see, can I close it again and not suffer as a result of disobeying the Gods? Is it worth knowing?” She obviously decided that it was worth the risk, hence curiosity got the best of her. But yeah, she was clearly wrong.
Relative to the theory of the “y” vs “x” chromosomes … perhaps the missing tail on the “y” is that rib that Adam gave to Eve. Ok, well maybe not. And yes, it could very well be a biological adaptation. That theory simply leads us back to “why and how”.
However, if one is to suggest that an optional theory for the differences and functionalities of “y’” vs “x” is based on an “unfriendly environment” that results in the need for alteration of the “x” chromosome, i.e., “destabilization” would insinuate that the entity that determines sexual identity is somehow superior to the entity that is of equal value in the conception of life; when in actuality one does not exist without the other. So, if research suggest that the “y” chromosome is becoming unstable, perhaps the study should include “why” one-half or a whole think itself superior to the process, before an “unfriendly environment” (infertility) deems us all as cells divided and ushers in an “alternate biological adaptation”.
Thanks so much for sharing and the opportunity to have this dialogue. Waving!
I find it sad that Greek and Christian (and undoubtedly others) mythology have scapegoated women as the cause of our so-called mortal sins. My secular view is that a blending of nature and nurture (facilitated by narcissism) are the roots of the evil around us. Indeed, I am dismissive of most (but certainly not all) sins as indulgences rather than truly wicked. Thus although the furies released from Pandora's Box may have been unsavory, that doesn't mean they didn't make for a good time!
As regards curiosity: exploration and experience are among the finest delights available to a sentient life. Of course they should be indulged, albeit with the appreciation that not every itch that is scratched ends happily ever after. As always, caveat emptor.
Be it Greek's Pandora or Christian's Eve, I agree that women were used as scapegoats. I guess it didnt matter that Pandora's Epimetheus or Eve's Adam acted as representatives of mankind, and thus responsible for their own free will to act or not to act in man's best interest. Thanks for the reply.
Humans want to go beyond thinking and they want to feel, moving from potential to kinetic. It's like wondering about pleasure and then experiencing it. People will risk a lot to feel something...
Thus suggesting the 'need' to feel someting far outweighs the risks. Further comfirmation of a strong and commanding force.
@SeekingRod Exactly. The great philosopher Iron Mike Tyson once said that discipline is doing the thing you hate like you love it. So discipline here would be restraint... and many find that hard, no matter how big or small the sacrifice. Life.
Perhaps one of the reasons why at least some human beings are curious, though not all, is because we want to understand the world we live in. We are intelligent beings, but not intelligent enough to comprehend the world we inhabit, and that's why we seek answers: What is time? What is space? Why is there something rather than nothing? What is life? Nobody knows the answers to these questions, and that's why humans keep opening the boxes they come across on the way. By the way, the answers that religions provide to these questions are ridiculous and pathetic, so we have no choice but to continue searching for the Truth, even though in that quest, we sometimes open the wrong boxes.
